Just One Angel

Don’t send me a Heavenly host.

Just set me free from the ghost

That haunts my nights, my sleep to steal,

Bringing dreams that seem so real.

The dreams are sweet, of times gone past,

An angel’s love that did not last.

Don’t send all the angels above,

Just one angel to bring me love.

She is somewhere, looking for me.

If we see it is meant to be,

We’ll find each other, then we’ll stay

In love forever and a day.

I need your help. Each night I pray,

Send down your help. Show me the way.

She won’t need wings to fly above,

But her two arms will hold my love.

No halo will set her apart,

She’ll always be Queen of my heart.

No shrine for all the world to see,

Her love will light the world for me.

When it’s over, the searching done,

There’s one angel under the sun.

When I see her open the door

We’ll have a love like none before.

Heaven will come to earth, you see,

When I love her, and she loves me.

Don’t send all the angels above,

Just one angel to bring me love.

Just one angel for me to love.
