A
Friend

There
is a time when you meet someone,
Yet,
know not who they will be;
This
smile arises from their face,
There’s
a glow for all to see;

Just
then the jolly warmth appears,
And
you feel like you belong;
They
make you feel like you’re someone,
And
that nothing can go wrong;

Among
their shinning presents,
All
their laughs and cheery voice;
It’s
apparent in an instant,
This
is your friend of choice;

There
is nothing more important,
Then
to feel like you belong;
With
all the others that are there,
Your
friend’s presence brings a song;

When
others are all among you,
And
your friend is with you too;
The
tasks that you must conquer,
All
simply melt away so soon;

You
may not see your friend a lot,
Oh,
maybe once a year;
But
guarantee that when you do,
The
room will fill with cheer;

So
listen all to what I say,
And
hold your friend in your heart;
Remember
it was because of them,
Your
friendship was to start.

Very
seldom in one’s life,
This
chance will come along;
With
a smile that lasts forever,
And
a happy welcome song.
