Flowers

Just a simple gift of flowers

Sent to someone from the heart,

May leave a lasting feeling

To where words they can not start.

Flowers may brighten up a day

When you're down or feeling blue,

Flowers may say, "get well soon"

Or darling, "I love you"

Flowers may be enjoyed

By the young and even old,

Flowers will lift a spirit

Or warm a heart that's turned ice cold.

Flowers will bring two people

Together if they are far away,

They'll also welcome a newborn child

Into this world on a given day.

Only flowers will take a wintry day

Then make it feel like spring,

Then at times will crush a heart so deep

You'll want to stand up and sing.

Thank God for all His flowers

And for the beauty they convey,

For when received with gratitude

There is nothing you have to say.
