Lay Me Down To Rest When you lay me down to rest No burdens will I claim, For I'll have nothing left my Lord Except my soul and name My name soon will be forgotten Only a memory here or there, Maybe carved upon a head of stone For those that look or care When that day arrives dear Lord I'll be ready for where I go, Whether buried in a dust top field Or six feet below the snow I can really say my life Was fulfilled in every way, It will be talked about when I'm gone Just like it is today For the one's that didn't bother with me They may just come around, But then dear Lord it will be to late For my voice will project no sound So when you lay me down to rest No sorrow will I ask, If there is any recognition May it lie within my past So let the music play Then joy may fill the air, While mourn is not my request For any that may be there Even though I may lie in comfort For my days on earth are through, I look forward to your acceptance So I may be free to serve with you Just before I meet you Allow me to look my best, So you may lead me far from here When you lay me down to rest ..
